Audiovisual Banqueting Employee

For events and meetings at Van der Valk Plaza Resort Bonaire we are looking for colleagues who will deliver an unforgettable experience to our guests during an event. As banqueting employee no two days are the same. One day you will be working on an event with 500 guests serving drinks, the other day you will make sure that a business meeting is fully taken care of, or you will serve the guests dinner after a successful business event. With your expertise in audiovisual appliances, you know how to take care of all the technical needs of the guest and handle all their questions regarding the technology. It is all possible in our beautiful, new spaces!

YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

• Setting up event spaces
• Being the point of contact for questions during events or meetings
• Setting up necessary technology and solving audiovisual issues (such as beamers, headsets, microphones)
• Serving drinks, snacks, lunch, and/or dinner
• Cleaning up the event space after meetings or events

You will handle complaints and issues to ensure guests leave with a smile after their event. As a banqueting employee, you are the shining face of our events.

WHO ARE WE?

Our all-inclusive resort is located in the most beautiful spot in Bonaire, right by the sea. Guests can snorkel and dive from the beach and admire one of the island's most beautiful reefs. They also have a stunning view of Klein Bonaire from our beach.

We are currently renovating and expanding. The new main building, which houses the meeting and event spaces, will open later this year. With this new building and the upcoming high season, we are looking for reinforcements for our Banqueting/F&B team.

BESIDES THAT, YOU CAN COUNT ON:

• Salary between $1,800 and $2,200 gross per month, in line with your knowledge and experience;
• Working within an entrepreneurial family business, in a beautiful environment and an international community.

For the current vacancy, it is required that you have at least 1 year of experience as a service employee or banqueting employee.

FURTHERMORE, WE ASK:

• A candidate who is presentable, stress-resistant, guest-oriented, and solution-oriented;
• You follow a relevant study to (audiovisual) technology, such as IT or Media. Experience is a plus;
• You are flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
• Fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of Papiamento is a plus.
