Our culture

In our organisation we have employees with different nationalities. This brings a lot of dynamic in the culture and sometimes a challenge. Most of the tourists who stay in our resort come from the Netherlands and we have guests from The United States. In our organisation we speak Dutch and in some jobroles you will speak English. We also have employees who speak the native language from Bonaire: Papiamentu. And some of us also speak Spanish. A job at our resort means working in a team that is growing and learning. For your personal careerpath we are happy to help you with education and development.

Our vacancies

Working at the most beautiful location of Bonaire

Our resort has been located on the coast with its own beach for almost 30 years. We have a diving school, a marina and currently about 200 rooms. And we are expanding and renovating the resort and facilities. This year we will open a new main building with a beautiful front desk, lobby, shopping street, office and meeting rooms. We will also build a wellness center, fitness center and new casino.

Recently we opend a luxury restaurant with an all-inclusive concept, the beach bar and the swimming pool with a view of the sea. And the completely new villa island is already being used by some of our guests. Later this year, the penthouses will also be available for tourists to stay.

All this renovationg and building means a lot for the work of our employees. The service we offer to our guests has to reaches a 5-star level. And we cannot achieve this without our driven employees. This is what bonaire offers you

Bonaire is a small tropical island with a land area of 288 km2 which is located in the Caribbean Sea.  Our resort is 5 minutes away from the airport and you can reach Kralendijk in just a 15-minute walk. This is the center of Bonaire where you will find various shops, terraces and restaurants and a nice boulevard to walk in the morning and see the sunset after a day of work. The island's coral reefs are an underwater paradise for snorkelers and divers. Wind- and kite surfers can also enjoy themselves on the coast, almost every day there is enough wind. From the resort you have a beautiful view over Klein Bonaire, a very green island with a nice sandy beach and the best sites to dive and snorkel.

Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive resort is part of Van der Valk International BV (VDVI). This is a holding company to which several hotels belong.

Besides the hotels and resorts we also have 2 indoor ski domes and 3 private mental health clinics in Germany. And there are other successful companies and co-creations within the holding company. Such as almost 100 locations of Vapiano and Dunkin Donust, Techval builders of hospitality, our own farm Agro Nuland, event location EVM19, online and land-based casinos Circus.nl and Circus Grand Casino.
