AFAS Functional Administrator

That's why we are looking for an AFAS Functional Administrator. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will be responsible for the daily management, optimization, and further development of our AFAS environment (Profit and InSite). You will be the point of contact for user questions and thus act as the link between HR, Finance, and IT.

You will be responsible for, among other things:

• Managing, configuring, and optimizing AFAS within the HR, Payroll, and Finance domains;

• Translating issues into structural improvements and efficient workflows;

• Implementing projects such as the leave module, the absence portal, and the IND process;

• Advising users and increasing knowledge and user-friendliness;

• Testing and guiding new functionalities and implementations;

• Ensuring a uniform way of working within our cross-border AFAS environments.

You thrive on optimizing systems and processes. You work in a structured and precise manner, think in solutions, and communicate clearly with stakeholders near and far. This is important because you will interact a lot with colleagues in the Netherlands, and your manager travels regularly between the Netherlands and Bonaire.

Additionally, it is important that you have:

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in functional management, HR or payroll processes, or AFAS support;

• Demonstrable knowledge of AFAS HRM, Payroll, and/or Finance;

• Experience with process optimization and setting up workflows;

• Excellent command of Dutch and English;

• Knowledge of the legislation in Bonaire or the willingness to delve into it;

• Availability of 24 to 40 hours per week;

• At least a vocational level 4+ and an HBO level of work and thinking.

At Plaza Resort Bonaire, you will work on Bonaire, part of the Caribbean Netherlands. Dutch territory, with its own rules. We believe it is important that you know exactly what you are getting into beforehand. So you can start your new chapter here with peace of mind.

• Your salary is in US dollars (USD). That is the official currency of the Caribbean Netherlands.

• Own tax system. The first USD 21,956 you earn is tax-free. Above that, you pay 29.4%, only from around USD 75,000 does 38.4% apply.

• No health insurance premium, no deductible. Once you are registered, you are insured through Zorg en Jeugd Caribisch Nederland. Make sure to arrange bridging insurance until that registration is complete.

• You are or will become a resident of the Caribbean Netherlands. This is also fiscally important because only domestic taxpayers are entitled to the tax-free sum.

• We will arrange your admission. As a High Trust Partner of the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland, we take care of the paperwork. You only need to provide your documents. Our extra service for a warm welcome.

• You are stepping into a new life, not just a new job. Housing, transportation, groceries: things work differently here than in the European Netherlands. Our HR team will support you, even well after your first day of work.

The amounts mentioned apply to the tax year 2026.
