Bordering the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, Van der Valk's Plaza Beach & Dive resort is located. In the restaurant we are looking for a talented Chef who can take the menu and the entire kitchen brigade to a higher level. Someone who is not afraid to push boundaries and lets guests discover new flavor combinations that will enchant them. As a Chef, you get the opportunity to apply your own creativity and inspiration. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As a Chef, you will have the opportunity to make your mark on the culinary level and learn everything about our beautiful resort! With management of the entire kitchen brigade, you get the best out of yourself and your colleagues every day. At Van der Valk International everything revolves around development, so your growth is also central. And of course you understand better than anyone what hospitality means and how you can convey it. 


FURTHER:

  • You are ultimately responsible for the (pre)preparation of the dishes;

  • You coordinate the most effective and efficient preparation process possible;

  • You are responsible for purchasing and stock management of the kitchen;

  • You determine recipes and menus based on your substantive knowledge and provide them;

  • You are responsible for staff deployment, such as creating staff schedules, work distribution and deployment of employees.

This hotel, together with a number of other hotels at home and abroad, is part of the Van der Valk International (VDVI) holding. Our all-inclusive resort is located in the most beautiful place on Bonaire: right on the sea, where you can snorkel from the beach and admire one of the most beautiful reefs on the island. The cherry on top is that you have a beautiful view of Klein Bonaire from the resort.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

You radiate energy and enjoy creating a smoothly running kitchen together with the team! As a reliable point of contact, you guide your colleagues and strive for their satisfaction and growth. You are the driving force that motivates and enthuses the team to get the best out of themselves. Moreover, you are critical and always have a keen eye for improvement. With your self-knowledge you are an indispensable link in the team.

IN ADDITION, IT IS NICE IF YOU?

  • You preferably have a completed HBO education;

  • You have at least 3 years of managerial experience in a similar position;

  • You can work well in a team;

  • You want to work as a Chef for at least one year.

  • You are quality-oriented and have an eye for detail;

  • You are enthusiastic and hospitable.
